Steak Dunigan - James Patrick Dunigan
Submitted by Deb Dunagan on Mon, 2011-09-26 07:04. journal-styleI had the Steak Dunigan on Sept 26, 2011 at the Pink Adobe Restaurant in Santa Fe and found out the Pink Adobe has been making it for over 50 years and it is one of their top dishes - along with french onion soup and apple pie. The reason it is called Steak Dunigan is that James Patrick Dunigan was a friend of Rosalea Murphy - the founder of Pink Adobe. Pat would ask Rosalea to make his steak with green chili and mushrooms. Other people started asking for it - saying I want the Steak like Dunigan. Because it was so good and popular, Rosalea added it to the menu and called it Steak Dunigan.
