Dunegan Family History

I am Rozell (Sangster) Thomas. My husband and I live in rural Durant, Oklahoma in a community called Blue.

I am the daughter of Earl McKlene and Mamie Agnes (Dunegan) Sangster.

My grandad is William Landon Dunegan, Jr. He came to the Indian Territory in 1885 from Kent, Newton County Missouri, where his father owned a farm.
His parents are William Landon Dunegan, Sr. and Sydney Caroline Mayfield who had the following children:
Dallas b: May 1852 in Newton Co., MO - d: Wade, Bryan Co., OK
Wm Landon, Jr. B: March 15, 1855 Newton Co., Mo - d:Jan 24, 1906 Wade, I.T.
Alice b: 1857 - d:1859 in Newton Co. MO
Leonidas b: 1859 Newton Co., MO
Rufus b: 1861 Newton Co. MO

Wm L. Dunegan, Jr. married (1) Minta A. Richards on Nov 15, 1881 in Fannin Co., TX. They had two children: Edmond Dodd and Minta. His wife died probably died from complication of child birth?

In Wm, Jr.'s interview before the Dept. of the Interior on November 19, 1902, he was living at Wade when he petition for enrollment as an intermarried citizen in the Choctaw Nation.
His deceased wife was (2)Frances Nelson who was a citizen of the Choctaw Nation. They married July 24, 1887 in Wade, I.T.
They had one son, William Nelson Dunegan b: Jan 19, 1889 in Wade - d: June 16, 1958 in Shawnee, OK. Wm N. Dunegan is listed on the Dawes Roll as 1/4 Indian. Frances also probably died from complications of child birth.

Wm. L. Dunegan, Jr. married Cethia Pearl Journey Aug 12, 1904 in Sherman, Grayson Co., TX. They had one daughter, Mamie Agnes Dunegan. Wm L. Dunegan died with TB when she was only 6 months old.
