Passing of Edward Dunagin

It is with a heavy heart that I break the sad news of the passing of my father, Edward Dunagin, the administrator of this web site, last week after a long illness. This site was a labor of love for him and although for the last few years he had been unable to post as often as he would have liked, he enjoyed reading your stories and hearing the histories of Dunagins of All Spellings.

Ezekiel Jackson Dunagan named after our Grandfather GGG Grandfather Ezekiel Jackson

Looking through a number pf papers left to me by my Grandmother Mary Dunagan Barber, and speaking to various relatives. I have some interesting information concerning my GGG Grandfather Ezekiel it appears he had a wild spirit. He married my GGG Grandmother Lydia Ann Brown after a number of children with Lydia she passed on. He then married Margaret Peggy Wallace, they had several children. He had several slaves on his farm in GA. Two of these slaves were his sons.

Hello and welcome to this Dunagins Of All Spellings Wiki.

NOTICE

I have noted that several folks have had trouble
logging into the system. I suspect it may have to do with passwords. When you first access the
'create new account' the system assigns you a random password that is emailed to you. Passwords are CASE SENSITIVE, so if you do not
use the proper upper and lower case, the password will be rejected.

LOGGING AND REGISTRATION:

On your left is an area for you to login. If you have not already created a new account, select the 'create new account" At this point you will be sent to a page that asks for your user name and your email address. When this is submitted, you will be logged out. Then go to your own email account and you will find a message from this site giving you a temporary password.

Then return to this Wiki site, or use the link that is in the email message. The link will log you in and then provide a page so that you can create the password that you desire. If you choose to directly return to this site, log in with your user name and the password that was in your email message. CAUTION..passwords are case sensitive. Select your 'my account' and then you can change your password.

As a logged in user, you may create content and make edits on this Wiki.

CREATING YOUR FAMILY HISTORY:

I created 'Dunagin Family History' in the following manner. I selected blogs then selected create content. From this point you will see a selection, blog entry. After making this selection, a screen will come up on the right.

For Title, I entered Dunagin Family History, and in Tags, I entered Genealogy. Then I went down to the Body area, copied and typed the facts and information I had about my Dunagin history.

You will note additional selections of choice, that I hope are self explanatory. There is a choice in the Comment settings that will allow others to effect or not effect your history. All edits and comments must be approved by you before they become a part of your entry.

At the the bottom of this form you may choose to Preview and/or Submit this form. After the form is submitted, it will appear as a selection on the top left hand side of your screen.

Also, users may create and maintain uploaded Pictures and display them as desired.

We also plan to have a facility for Video Conferencing for those that have the equipment.

RSS FEEDS:

This will be available for all content that you select. There will be a special area on this Wiki for the explanation of RSS and the selection of the RSS feed.

I tried it out and did fine. At the bottom of an area that you wish to have RSS feeds, you will find a little red square. I selected this
for a feed on 'blogs'. This took me to a screen to subscribe to a RSS subscription. I choose Google, for I have gmail. This took me to my gmail site and then I selected a folder to put the feed into. Hope this works ok for me.(Well, this did not work for me, so will keep looking into it.

PLEASE remember, this Wiki is under MAJOR construction, so drive carefully.
